Troubleshooting

This section provides solutions to common issues and errors.

Data Retrieval

Issue: Invalid stock tickers are entered.
Solution: Ensure that you are entering valid stock ticker symbols.
Issue: Allocation percentages do not sum to 100%.
Solution: Verify that the allocation percentages in percentage mode sum to 100%.
Issue: Allocation amounts are unreasonable in dollar mode.
Solution: Check that the allocation amounts in dollar mode are appropriate.
Issue: Limited historical data availability.
Solution: Some stocks may have limited historical data. Try adjusting the date range or choosing different stocks.

Issue: Processing time is long.
Solution: Processing time increases with the number of stocks and longer date ranges. Reduce the number of stocks or the date range. Large datasets will naturally take longer.

Issue: Configuration files are overwritten.
Solution: Be aware that configuration files may be overwritten when saving new setups.

Issue: Application crashes or freezes.
Solution:
- Ensure all dependencies are correctly installed.
- Restart the application.
- Check for updates to the application and dependencies.
- If the problem persists, please report it to the authors with relevant error messages.
